Early Life and Musical Roots

Born in Faisalabad, Pakistan, on Jan 13, 1948, Nusrat Fateh Kalif Khan was the fifth youngster and first son of distinguished Qawwali musician Fateh Ali Caravanserai.

Despite his father's initial backwardness, Nusrat's musical talent became decided, and with his uncle's fund, he began his formal training.

Early Success and Traditionalism
